What is the cost of fibreglass pools?

This is the most important question any pool buyer will ask when researching fibreglass pool options.

This question has been asked thousands of times over the years. Hundreds of potential pool buyers ask for estimates or quotes every year. Many people will also raise it in the first few minutes of their conversations.

We get it.

The price matters (it is not the only factor, but it is very important). The price of a pool and any accessories you may get will often determine the type of pool. You should plan your initial budget and consider long-term ownership costs. This is true for all pools, regardless of size or configuration.

This is a difficult question to answer because there are many options for swimming pools. It can be hard to determine the price until skilled professionals have surveyed your yard to see if any extra work or special approaches might be required.

River Pools strives to educate all potential buyers, even if it leads them towards a different pool type. I will do my best to provide realistic pricing ranges based on actual installation and accessories costs (in 2022).

Keep in mind that prices for fibreglass pool installations and accessories are estimates. They are based on the average fibreglass swimming pool project in 2022. Prices vary depending on what product you choose, where your home is, who you choose to install it to, and many other factors.

What is the cost of a fibreglass pool?

The average fibreglass pool will cost $70,000 to $135,000 in 2022. This price includes any accessories and a patio.

This price range can rise dramatically when you add more options or elaborate designs. These might include water features and natural stone hardscaping.

Only the shell

Some customers only require a fibreglass pool shell.

There are many costs involved in installing a fibreglass pool. Some people want to do it all themselves. This means purchasing and installing each component on its own.

Even if you are a skilled contractor, we don’t recommend DIY. There are many factors to take into consideration. A poorly installed DIY project can lead to more problems and longer-term expenses than the upfront savings.

These prices do not include shipping of the shell or accessories.

A s mall shell (less than 26 feet in length) $20,000-$30,000

A medium shell (between 27 and 34 feet in length): $25,000 – $35,000

A large shell (35 feet or more): $30,000 – $40,000

Basic installation

The following are typical components of a basic installation:

  • Shell
  • Shipping
  • Pump/filter system
  • Excavation
  • Fill
  • Filling the swimming pool with water

The majority of basic pool packages do not include any other options or patio work.

A basic installation can cost $40,000 to $100,000 . This is quite a large range. However, there are many pool shell options that you can install. Different sizes and shapes have their considerations.

In 2022, prices have risen due to many factors.

Concrete plus basic installation

Most pool installations include a concrete patio at the pool’s edge.

Concrete patios typically take 400 to 800 square feet around a swimming-pool area. Larger pools may require more space.

A typical fibreglass pool installation with a concrete patio will cost $65,000 to $90,000.

Turnkey installations

The fibreglass pool installation is complete, including the shell, patio and basic accessories. However, it will also include fencing as well as electricity.

River Pools customers typically paid $65,000 to $125,000 for a turnkey project in 2021.
